Nuclear power is so often portrayed as something undesirable (with the potential to make the Earth uninhabitable for humans), but James Lovelock, who formulated the Gaia theory, and who therefore might be supposed to espouse the conservationist/organic/natural "environmentalist" viewpoint, is a firm advocate of nuclear power as the _only_ way to solve the planet's energy problems.

Provocative show, as always. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks Paul, we truely appreciate your comments. Your point is well understood by uis- although going nuclear may seem anti-green, it may end up being our only hope as a race if we want energy equity in the world, and as the reality of Peak Oil comes home to roost. The concept of global warming actually increasing our need for CO2-emitting energy (did I hear Bush advocate more coal burning?) is a scary concept of exponetial environmental decay and socio-economic disaster. What does the future hold?
